Radha Kapadia writes on her Medium article ‘7 Reasons Why Friends Don’t Support Your Passion’ about why they don’t.
I liked this part:
A writer, or perhaps, any artist is known for taking the less practical route. The one that appears fascinating and magical, yet not good enough to imply in life. A practical mindset holds a person back from supporting a path like that. They find it hard to believe that one can make it in life by practicing art which is why they end up disapproving of it. Whatever be the case, they’re free to try what works for them and so are you.

What this says to me
I think it’s really interesting to see how someone who started writing with a passion got to this point of writing why people don’t support others writing with a passion. It’s soooo interesting. I mean, yeah. What’s funny is that when you are twenty or something people are like, Oh, nice for you! Trying something artistic!!, and then when you haven’t starved by the time you hit 24 or 27 or something, they start to get weirded out.
