DESCRIPTION:Experiential learning is all ‘learning by doing\,’ and our Art & Copy Zine Workshops are set up so that you get the chance to explore\, experiment\, and try your hand at making ‘zines.’ What is a ‘zine?’ A mini-magazine. Learn more here. \nOur zine club has an international membership and we are starting to discover that there’s for sure an interest in starting a real-life version of our project in the Triangle. We’re going to give it a whirl with a popup style event for you to meet\, talk\, discover us and our process\, and even make something for keeping and taking with you\, over the course of a week. Here’s an outline of what we’ll do. \nWhat it is:\nArt & Copy Zine Workshop\nSunday August 30\nCary\, NC\nTickets $95 per person\nAges 18+\nAdvance bookings only. Min 2\, Max 6 \n\n\nStart to finish publishing so you can make a ‘zine.’\n\n\n		\n		\n			\n				\n			\n			\n				\n			\n		\n\n\nFAQ\n\nWhat is a zine? \nA zine is a mini magazine and anyone can make one. \n\nDo I need to be experienced? \nNope. You can try it. No experience necessary. We have both beginner and advance guests. \n\nWhat can I expect? \n It’s a chance to make new friends and see what our club creates\, as we meet every week and try new things. Together. Let’s find out together what all the participants want to do\, and make the experience something that works well for everyone. This is Open Space Technology style of hosting. You can discover something as we go. The main goal is to try something new that might surprise you\, and for us to have some time and space to slow down\, meet each other\, and discover something new about each other and ourselves\, too. \nYou can come ready to try new things\, bring your favorite writing and drawing materials\, or items to cut and paste into a collage. \n\nWhat is Art & Copy? \nArt & Copy is the zine we make each month together in Art & Copy Zine Club. Member PP says\, ‘It is a space to unleash your inner creativity as a writer\, you can write about anything. The story you might have in your mind that you had always wanted to share. DESCRIPTION:This is a track of Cojournal for the North Carolina diaspora\, if you know what I mean. As I’m from this place and many others are from here\, too\, who are in the regions where I wander in Southeast Asia (mostly)\, it seemed high time to interlink us as there’s something not quite ‘gettable’ if you’re not from here. And with so many people living away from home\, creating a virtual sense of it through a shared sense of place\, history\, and vernacular seems like a way to design what I feel has always been missing for me abroad. ‘Home’ in NC. Let’s do that. \nWHAT THIS IS. I’d like to connect us together for a ‘Cojournal\,’ which is where we write\, write together\, and talk together sometimes about writing or whatever else we want. I’m always thinking up ways to get people together and to get us talking\, if you know me. Company and a place to write and share about our writing experiences\, or maybe\, our homes away from NC\, and how things have been for us as we’ve built these other places and found the communities that approximate a feeling of hospitality and welcome that… the South (used to have?… ) \nHOW IT WORKS. \n\nCojournal is outlined here.\nThis track is a simplified version of our normal program.\nCojournal | North Carolina is a 5-month series\, including prompts sent weekly over email to you that will be for ambient conversation 1:1\, and a once-a-month Zoom call with our group [optional].\nNo recordings. No group chats. No notifications. No obligation to ‘produce.’ It’s a space for you to connect with Cojournal and write and journal with us as you wish\, over email.\nStarts with a Meet & Greet call\, on the 17th.
