You can try it. No experience necessary. As I’m from this place and many others are from here\, too\, who are in the regions where I wander in Southeast Asia (mostly)\, it seemed high time to interlink us as there’s something not quite ‘gettable’ if you’re not from here. And with so many people living away from home\, creating a virtual sense of it through a shared sense of place\, history\, and vernacular seems like a way to design what I feel has always been missing for me abroad. ‘Home’ in NC. Let’s do that. \nWHAT THIS IS. I’d like to connect us together for a ‘Cojournal\,’ which is where we write\, write together\, and talk together sometimes about writing or whatever else we want. I’m always thinking up ways to get people together and to get us talking\, if you know me. I’ve invited contributors to submit this time who are non-members\, too\, with a reading fee attached so as to cover our costs of reading more things than usual. I’m looking forward to seeing how this all flows together but that call for submissions is open to some who are invited by current members of our clubs\, and just those people\, this time\, I’m afraid. We don’t need a lot of things\, just a few things we like to see and that’s it. DESK is A4 so we have a lot of room for laying out artwork\, too\, and for now the artwork is done in-house but later we may change things. \nThis is a co-created exploration and ‘writing as experience’ kind of project. It’s not a product. We only make a small number of copies of each issue\, usually sent to people who order via Instagram or our crowdfunding page. That’s it\, though.
